YWCA Yellowknife is grateful for an extended network of donors who believe in our mission to eradicate poverty, homelessness and violence. They have come through time and again with donations of cash, furniture, clothing and household items. Thanks to all of you for your ongoing support.


 

Caption for Avalon photo: Don Bubar, president and CEO of Avalon Rare Metals Inc. presents a cheque for $500 to Julie Green of YWCA Yellowknife, for the GirlSpace program, setting off a flurry of donations that amounted to almost $11,000 from Avalon staff, board and investors, as well as northern business associates and friends. This donation will go a L-O-N-G way to providing for snacks, outing, craft supplies, cooking ingredients and special events for the girls. Thank you so much!!
 
Caption for Benmooredonation: Jim Walton of YWCA Yellowknife’s Transitional Housing Program accepts a $2000.00 donation from the Community Foundations of Canada and Benjamin Moore from Rosella Stoesz of the Yellowknife Community Foundation. The grant inclues $700.00 worth of Benjamin Moore paint from Aurora Decorating in Yellowknife. Jim and his helpers are planning to paint up a storm at Rockhill!
